‘A Place To Become (一個成為之所)’ explores how public space in Taiwan functions as a common good, continually transformed through collective use.
The public space contains an extraordinary amount of spatial knowledge, held collectively by those who use it. Ideas collide and commingle, producing new spatial relations. No single person authors the space; it emerges through its continual re-performance by the community, reminding us that a city is more than what architects and planners design—it also grows from the collective inventions of its users.
Public space in Taiwan asks us: can a new shared urban imaginary be built by people re-performing the city every day?
