FOUND POETRY WORKSHOP SHARED MEMORY
2017 // ART LETTERS & NUMBERS // AVERIL PARK [NY, USA]
All participants brought an object they had some memories tied to, these were placed on a large wooden table, on top of a sheet of paper.
Standing in front of their object, everyone rotated one spot counterclockwise. Finding themselves in front of an unfamiliar object, the participants were asked to write the word or sentence or feeling the object conveyed to them, after which they were to fold the top of the paper to cover the word. This was repeated till the participants had rotated back to their own object. Leaving everyone with an exquisite corpse of words from all others. From these words, they would create their own poems.
This was the first found poetry workshop in a series of three:
01 [ Found Poetry Collection ]
03 [ Found Poetry Erasure ]
